The new bridge sits three metres higher than the original culvert to improve the safety and reliability of the creek crossing, and also features a wildlife corridor beneath.
Infrastructure Committee Chair Councillor Teresa Lane said the new bridge would improve the road's flood immunity, and Logan City Council was grateful for funds provided by the federal government.
"Motorists and residents wanted the culvert removed and replaced with a safer wet weather option and we have done that with a raised bridge," Cr Lane said.
"With the increasing popularity of North Maclean and surrounding suburbs it was important that we took the time to develop a lasting solution to reducing the impact of flooding.
"I'd like to thank the Australian Government for working with Council to fund this vital piece of road infrastructure."
The project was delivered through a partnership between the council and the Australian Government as part of the Bridges Renewal Program.
Deputy Mayor and Division 11 Councillor Natalie Willcocks said although poor weather had delayed construction, motorists and residents could be sure their patience had paid off.
"Time and time again residents have told me they want better roads in this division and with this project we are delivering just that," Cr Willcocks said.
"They can now enjoy a much safer and dependable road.
"The wet weather has delayed the opening of the bridge but Council and the contractor have worked tirelessly to ensure that the work was completed as soon as possible.
"I'd like to thank residents for their patience during the construction phase."
